Students Learn About Metal Fabrication at O&M Industries

Recently, the Trades Academy brought students from Arcata High School and Six Rivers Charter to O&M Industries to explore careers in Metal Fabrication. The students got to see the fabrication of a wood rack that was being made for the AHS wood shop. During the tour, O&M employees shared information about their job and gave some insight into what working in the industry is like. The students also got to see a full demonstration of a project going through development and planning using engineering. They then went out to the shop to see the metal being cut out on a CNC Plasma Cutter and formed. Thank you to O&M Industries for being an Education At Work Partner always providing phenomenal tours for local students!
