Education at Work

North Coast employers have told us that the most significant issue they face is their ability to find a ready, willing, and capable workforce. Over the past several years we’ve engaged in strategic work and partnerships to address many of these issues.

By actively supporting high school Career Technical Education programs employers can bridge the connection of what is taught in the classroom to compliment real work experiences. Early work-based learning experiences are critical while students are still in high school, or college, as they explore their career options.

Education at Work and its associated programs like Trades Academy, Trades Academy Summer Institute (TASI), Health Careers Exploration Project (HCEP), Health Careers Exploration Summer Institute (HESI), and Technology Exploration Summer Institute (TESI) are the next steps towards building this solid foundation for our future work force and now is the time for you to get involved! Education at Work offers additional programs for college and career readiness; you are invited to learn more and join our work!

The Education at Work Program:

Generates awareness of opportunities available within the local business community.
Gives businesses the ability to communicate directly to students and help develop future employees.
Allows students to identify and relate their interests, skills, and aspirations with local employment opportunities.
Promotes hands-on career exploration, preparation and training.
Increases morale and productivity within the organization and allows employees to learn teamwork.
Increases positive public relations in our community while receiving a fresh perspective for an organization.
Provides transformational experiences for our youth as they navigate their future careers.
