Restorative Conferencing is a community-oriented approach to addressing conflicts and harm. By focusing on dialogue, empathy, and accountability, this process aims to repair relationships and build a stronger sense of community. The ultimate goal is to create a space where individuals can learn from their actions, take responsibility, and work together towards healing and reconciliation.

Outcomes:

  • Learn the fundamentals of facilitating a Restorative Conference in response to an incident of wrongdoing or harm.
  • Create a space for open dialogue that works towards a resolution and repairing of relationships.
  • Facilitate open communication, active listening and shared responsibility.

PLEASE NOTE: Clarification on Training Options

In the past, some participants have accidentally registered for Restorative Conferencing when they intended to attend Fundamentals of Restorative Practices for Educators. To avoid any confusion, please review the descriptions below to ensure you’re registered for the training that best fits your needs:

  • Restorative Practices for Educators is the recommended starting point and focuses on the proactive 80% of restorative practices, building relationships, fostering connection, creating community through circles, and addressing lower-level harm using restorative processes.
  • Restorative Conferencing is designed for situations involving more serious harm and centers on the reactive 20% of restorative practices. This event addresses topics of Restorative Justice Conferencing.
