Each day of the week has its own theme. Add something every day that represents the theme for the day. Below are the daily themes and some ideas about how to celebrate with that day’s theme.
Music Monday is all about expressing yourself and having fun with song! Kick off your celebration with music, movement, and fun! Experiment with playing and listening to different types of instruments, and dancing. Did you know that participating in musical activities encourages and supports the development of language, math and early literacy?
Search for items by listening with your ears. Ask children to find something that squeaks, sounds like bells, rattles, has a deep sound, sounds like water.
Search for foods in your house that are the colors of the rainbow.
If you have the technology, take a friend for a “virtual walk” with you to search for spring in your neighborhood. Look for something that grows that’s green, two birds, a spider web, a yellow flower, a flowering tree, three kinds of leaves.
Walk through your neighborhood and look for shapes (diamonds, triangles, circles, squares, things with stripes, polkadots).
Backyard scavenger hunt. search for clouds in the shapes of animals, three different colored rocks, a leaf in the shape of a heart, a red bug, a flower with six petals, something that’s blue, something that’s round.
