Building Trades Construction Class Holds Open House

The public is invited to an open house for a model/demonstration house built by high school students from Arcata and McKinleyville High Schools. Students in the Building Trades Construction classes were involved in the planning, design and construction of the home, and this open house is to celebrate completion of a three-year HROP Building Trades Construction project.

The open house takes place Friday, September 22, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 1832 Maplewood Drive, McKinleyville.

This home contains many energy saving features, materials and mechanisms that allow for a healthy indoor living environment.

This project was made possible due to the contributions, both time and money, from many individuals and businesses in the community.  The Building Trades Construction program trains youth to become skilled, hard-working, responsible, and successful adults.
