New Video: Mortimus Returns!
Quack and Wabbit Puppet Theatre presents: “Mortimus Returns”, the second video in the Mortimus series. This is a fun musical puppet theater program, where children learn specific tools to help with self-care, self-regulation, and dealing with strong emotions. This program teaches belly breathing, body scanning and how to use the tool HALT which helps us to know when to stop and take care of ourselves. Students will learn the importance of healthy habits and activities which fill their “self-care balloons”.

Quack and Wabbit Puppet Theatre has created a series of puppetry workshops for Humboldt County teachers. These free workshops include instructions and templates to help teachers integrate the workshops into their social-emotional curriculum.
Thanks to HCOE, Garfield school, Humboldt Sponsors and HAF we are able to provide this service to the schools of Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties.

We are Tanya Crowley and Yumi Ozaki, co-founders, program directors and performers for the northern California puppetry troupe, Quack and Wabbit Puppet Theatre. Our purpose is to promote a positive difference in the lives of children by teaching valuable life skills through the art of puppetry. Some of you have already met us in the schools over the past 20 plus years. We are excited to let you know that we have created our first puppet video called “Mortimus to the Rescue”, a fun musical puppet theatre performance, where children learn specific tools to help with self regulation, normalizing feelings and dealing with strong emotions during the COVID Pandemic. Thanks to Humboldt Sponsors, HCOE, Garfield school, and HAF we are able to provide this service to the schools of Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity county. Also note that we have a “Mr Gumpy’s Outing” Puppetry workshop and performance series. This program is an interactive, creative fun filled time where you will learn how to make your own beautiful sock puppet, make your puppet come alive, and participate in Quack and Wabbit’s version of “Mr. Gumpy’s Outing”. This is a musical story about cooperation and friendship based on the book by John Burningham. Children will have the opportunity to use their newly created sock puppets to play, sing, dance and be a part of the show. This video performance is enlightening, playful and full of surprises.The 8 videos and printable PDF sheets are available to rent separately or as a package. Please contact us for more information.
