AB 1230: Updates to Student Discipline and Expulsion Procedures

This training provides an overview of California Assembly Bill 1230, effective January 1, 2026, which introduces key changes to pupil discipline, expulsion, and readmission practices in K–12 schools.

Participants will learn about:

  • Updated requirements for individualized rehabilitation plans
  • Equitable access to support services
  • Revised timelines and criteria for student readmission

The session will highlight how these changes aim to improve student outcomes, support successful reintegration, and reduce barriers that contribute to dropout and the school-to-prison pipeline. This training is for school administrators and staff involved with student rehabilitation plans.
