CPIN – PTKLF: Language and Literacy Development Series
Join us for a three-part professional learning series exploring the Preschool Transitional Kindergarten Learning Foundations Language and Literacy Development domain.
August 29th, 10:00 to 11:00 AM: The first session in this three-part series provides an overview of the Preschool Transitional Kindergarten Learning Foundations Language and Literacy Development domain.
September 12th, 10:00 AM to noon: The second session in this series focuses on the Foundational Language Development subdomain. Participants will review and reflect on developmentally informed learning outcomes and teaching strategies that promote young learners’ listening and speaking skills, phonological awareness, knowledge of alphabetics and print, concepts of print, and emergent literacy development.
September 26th, 10:00 AM to noon: The third session in this series focuses on the English Language Development subdomain. Participants will discuss the value of multilingualism, ways to support young English Language Learners at different stages of language acquisition, and draw connections to the foundational language development highlighted in the previous session.
