HCOE provides information and referral services to members of the public on homeschool and private school options available locally, including resources and legal requirements.

Responsible for:

• Developing, in conjunction with legal counsel, county-wide policies, procedures and forms for interdistrict transfers
• Managing appeals to the Humboldt County School Board for transfers denied by district school boards.
• Answering questions regarding Private School registration and enrollment.
