The Humboldt County Office of Education Students Engaged in the Arts Through Schools (SEATS) program is part of Humboldt County’s commitment to providing a well-rounded arts education for all students. Offered to all Humboldt County public educators, Reserved SEATS builds on classroom arts integration and arts classes, providing additional opportunities to foster creativity, cultural engagement, and meaningful connections to the arts. Through partnerships with leading community arts organizations, Reserved SEATS offers programs across theatre, visual arts, dance, and music.
Our valued community partners include: North Coast Dance, Eureka Symphony, Humboldt Arts Council, Arcata Playhouse, North Coast Repertory Theatre, Ferndale Repertory Theatre, Cal Poly Humboldt, and local teaching artists, all working together to enrich student learning and inspire the next generation of creators.
This year, there are two pathways for participation, one for all Humboldt County Educators, and one specially tailored for Arts Specialists.
Opportunities for general education and special education teachers to bring students to live arts experiences such as Schools to Symphony, Museums to Schools. Schools to Dance and Schools to Theatre.
These programs are specifically designed for visual art, music, theatre, and media arts educators, to grow their instructional practices. They include artist residencies, interactive fieldtrips, hands on assemblies and clinics for professional development.
