Humboldt County Office of Education: 2021 Capitol Christmas Tree Decorating

Six Rivers, Many Peoples, One Tree

US Capitol Christmas Tree 2021

Create an Ornament for the 2021 US Capitol Christmas Tree

The Six Rivers National Forest has been chosen to provide this year’s Christmas tree to adorn the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol, representing the USDA Forest Service and the state of California. As part of the 51-year USDA Forest Service tradition, the Six Rivers National Forest is providing the People’s Tree for the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol and 130 smaller trees to adorn the offices throughout Washington, D.C. for the 2021 holiday season.

How do you decorate one 80-foot-tall Christmas tree plus 130 smaller companion trees? With lots and lots of ornaments and tree skirts! And they need your help decorating it! Create a home-made ornament and drop it off at Humboldt County Office of Education or one of several other Humboldt County locations by Sept. 15, 2021 for use on the tree!
