Future Educators

Future Educators is a new CTE class designed under the Education industry sector to prepare students interested in becoming teachers or learning about careers in education. Students will learn about teacher conduct, methods of learning, processes for pursuing careers in education, teaching strategies, and more.

Students will be asked to create materials teachers can use, connect with their community, teach the class, work with staff across the campus, lead lessons, observe classrooms and engage with elementary school students. Students will complete observations at local elementary schools, eventually assisting the classroom teacher with instruction or with small groups.

Class time outside of observations will include discussing topics, modeling teaching practices, and gathering personal and community insight about education policies and systems.
