Sean Mitchell, Teacher
Our Automotive Technology courses have no limits when it comes to teaching students about auto repair! From tire balancers and five car lifts to alignment machines, our students get to learn the valuable skills of car maintenance. Auto students learn about shop safety, appropriate attire, and responsible behavior that are important requirements when working in the auto industry.
Auto 1 students study everything from part and tool identification and care to hazardous material handling in a hands-on setting. They learn about every part of the car including brakes, windows, how to replace and drain coolant and oil, and engine mechanics. Students are also able to “get under” cars for an on-the-job like experience.
Auto 2 students are currently working on a class restoration project of a ’98 Jeep Grand Cherokee, this project has included adding a new suspension bar and back tires. Students are also able to work on their own vehicles, shop vehicles, and even teacher’s vehicles.
