This workshop covers 2S/LGBTQIA+ terminology and key concepts, data on queer student health outcomes, strategies for instructional guidance, Federal and State laws and policies, the role of administrators in creating welcoming schools, relevant trends in national climate, a review of what local resources are available, and best practice for local educational agencies to support students, staff and families who are Two-Spirit/Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and everyone else who is not 100% heterosexual AND cisgender (2S/LGBTQIA+ or queer for short) so that all of our local schools provide safe learning environments that protect the health and safety of 2S/LGBTQIA+ school community members.
