Launch Computer Science at Your School with TK-12 Curriculum, Kits & Teacher Training

The HCOE Science Leadership Team is excited to announce an amazing opportunity that is coming up on Saturday September 26th from 8:30-12:00 at HCOE. Specific grant funding has allowed us to purchase several sets of high-quality computer science kits and curricula. We’re hosting a workshop to provide brief training on how to use them and give them away to TK-12 teachers. All curriculum and kits are aligned with grade level California Computer Science standards.

Curricula and kits and training sessions are at the TK-3, 4-5, and 6-12 level. There is an assortment of curriculum that uses books and freely available apps, and kits that have materials associated with them like Kibo Kits for younger kids and Climate Action Microbit kits and Smart Science loT kits for older students. All kits have reusable materials.  We invite teams of teachers from a school to apply to attend the workshop as the kits can be used across classrooms and we have worked to group the materials as classroom sets. We have both kits to give away AND books that go with lessons and free apps.  Please apply to attend, our workshop will be first come, first serve until we run out of materials.  Any teacher who wants to add more computer science to their classroom is invited to attend so please feel free to pass this email on.
