Humboldt County Office of Education: Vaping/E-Cigarette Resources and Information

Vaping Paraphernalia

What is Vaping?

Vaping and electronic cigarettes are battery‐operated devices that produce aerosol. They are often called e‐cigs, e‐hookahs, hookah pens, vapes, vape pens, vape pipes, mods or Juuls.

There are different types of devices, and devices can contain nicotine, THC, or CBD.

Is Vaping Safe?

Vaping has been marketed as a “safer” alternative to smoking, since the user is inhaling vapor and not smoke. However, a recent rash of deadly lung disease demonstrates that there are many unknowns about the health effects of this new and lightly regulated product.
